Dr. Nancy Rocks
It was 1998 in Boston when I first came across the musical stylings of Dr. Nancy Mroczek, Ph.D. The boys and I were at Brandon Graham's apartment in the Back Bay when we caught a performance of "Cosmic Pow Wow" on public access TV. With the nearly all-black band funk outfit Kolors backing Dr. Nancy up, this performance alone solidifies her position as one of the leading psychiatrist/outsider musicians of our time.
The multi-talented Dr. Mroczek has a wide variety of rock and jazz videos on her site, as well as an experimental video about Vietnam, all of which are worthwhile.
At the very least, you must check out the YouTube for Nancy's haunting rendition of Nirvana's "Come As You Are":

YES!!!!! i've been looking for this stuff for a while. I remember an older version of cosmic pow-wow with some killer trippy background visual stuff. (and i think she performs the whole song in a yoga position). Dr. Nancy, you are an inspiration.
